There's a lot of work left to be done on it, but I thought I'd share what I've been working on. 3ds Max 2008, rendered with Mental Ray.

His stance and everything remind me a lot of Metal Gear Rex(from Metal Gear Solid in case you didn't know), I like it alot.Good job ^_^.

nice shape-style! critic from an engineering student ;) : it looks like teh mass centre is to far in the backpart so that the mecha might fall down . there shoukld be either a large conterweight on the head of the bot pe a big gun :D or you could put the legs less leaned backwards, more upright. or you could do the heel-pads larger and longer

You're right. Once I added more of the details to the limbs I ended up moving the torso forward on the pelvis. I also increased the size of the limbs by 15%, which seems to give a more pleasing sense of proportion to the entire thing. I'll probably end up increasing the size of the heel pads as well. It just doesn't feel quite massive enough yet.
