huh...looks similar to my design idea for the Skycarriers used by the survivors of Terra Nova to live on the planet after a world war kinda deal irradiated most of the surface beyond safe living...only real diference is scale I guess, and the turbine engines instead of A-G propulsion.

love it.

I'm glad you like what I did. Yeah, flying ships show up in a lot of different stories. Mine are pretty small and fragile.

Interesting steampunk version of spacecraft.   Is your universe extrapolated from that set forth in the old GDW RPG Space:1889?

No, but I remember that one. Mostly I was extrapolating from The War of the Worlds, but adding in the existence of gravity control technology. This serves as an explanation for how the invaders were able to survive the acceleration and deceleration forces on their cylinders.

ohh, a ship in the sky. It's refreshing to see that since most of your ships are in space.

I love the ominous atmosphere of this picture. I was going to rant about the relative emptiness of the lower right half of it, but I realised it gives the strong sense of desolation that is, I think, central to this piece.

But damn, I have a very similar sketch of an aerial Borodino-class firing a broadside over my town. I should get it done some day.

The relative emptiness was me mucking up my levels again- I've got these pieces I started in a different color space than the one I finished them in, and the shadow details disappear unless I fix things. I uploaded a new version that shows some of what's going on in the corner.

Very nice lighting on...well, everything. I really like those clouds, and how foreboding they look with the backlighting.

You might need to talk to your ship-writes about emissions control tho, you're on the road to a brown bladerunner/madmax future.
