HMS Inexorable by MikeDoscher HMS Inexorable by MikeDoscher

The HMS Inexorable, flying over a (mostly) rebuilt Manhattan after the Peace.

I’ve picked up a few technical and aesthetic tricks over the past few months, so I may revisit some of my earlier paintings in the ‘Spacecraft of the First World War’ project.

Awesome work, reminds me of Gundam series MS carriers like Albion, Ahgama, Neo Ahgama, White Base and other Pegasus type carriers.

Thank you. I'm only passingly familiar with the Gundam universe, but I did think the Albion was an interesting concept. I guess if anything I was thinking of some of the carrier designs from Space Cruiser Yamato mixed with historical stuff.

Yep. I think the most common thing about these kind of carriers are that they always have at least 1 runway/launchpad and always shaped like an aquatic ship (in space!). Maybe because people like that kind of design. It's rare to see ships with cube or saucer type, even when Star Trek tried to popularize it.

Awesome work, i love the bomber. The Ship looks a bit too Futuristic for me, but i love the lighting and the general scenery quite alot.

Does the dreadnought double as an airborne-aircraft carrier?

Yes, though it might be better described as the equivalent of a seaplane tender, or something like the Russian Kiev class.  The backstory I saw for it was as a conversion of an existing battleship to a hybrid design while fitting out. I see the vessels in this universe evolving quickly, as technology and the situation progress.

I'd be really interested in seeing the bi-jetplane personally. I love the dual front intake and the bomber-tailgunner

Strikes me as a cross between The SDF-1 From Macross/Robotech, one of the ships from Star Blazers and a character from the Transformers: Energon series yet its so uniquely crafted that it's none of these. I love the design of it and your take on the "vintage" style fighter cruising high above it. Excellent job.

overall very impressive work, I especially like the design of the (comparatively) small aircraft flying alongside
