That's a very nice sketch, but the concept seems a bit impractical. The operator of the main gun would be exposed, and while multiped vehicles are a good design for rough, uneven terrain, so are tank treads. And even if the hydraulic systems were fast enough to propel this vehicle at faster than a human walking pace, the gait would probably be shaky enough to foul up the targeting of the gunner.

Yeah, I know this wasn't meant to be taken seriously. I just can't help giving unwanted tactical analysis for stuff like this.

This is super! What size is the gun?
I guess the legs are the self-propelled part when the gun fires it keeps the whole chassis from moving.

love it!

I figure the gun is probably a high velocity 75mm or so, at least that's what I based it on. The legs could absorb some of the recoil, but I figured the conventional pneumatic buffer on top would done most of the work.

You got some dope ID skills! I am amazed really!
The only thing that could carry your work to another lever would be to use a ruler and templates for main lines/curves, but your style might be a pesonal preference. It could look so much more sharp with clean lines!
I am watching you now! :)

Yeah, I really should. I want to keep things spontaneous and a little loose, but when I'm doing things like gun barrels there's really no excuse. Thanks for pointing that out, I've really been too lazy about such things. :)

There are probably better names for the aesthetic, but that's what I've heard it called... or rather 'retro-futuristic'. Hmm, did I put a typo in there somewhere? Wouldn't be the first time, heheh.

So is this more or less like a siege tank and designed to be used as a stationary artillery piece?

Kind of. I pictured it as a field conversion of a walking cargo carrier, designed for work in rugged terrain. A little like some of the early improvised SP guns from WWII.

A walking cargo carrier doesn't seem terribly efficient, but this design is sweet none the less.
